Can Mahomes’ Touchdown Prop Continue To Cash This Season?

  • The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Washington Football Team on Sunday.
  • The Chiefs are 2-3 and will need a big game from Patrick Mahomes to rebound.
  • Mahomes’ prop betting odds favor him to score more than 2.5 touchdowns.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs enter their matchup against the Washington Football Team at 2-3 on the season.

A loss to the Bills cost them the top spot in terms of odds to win the AFC, and they’ll be looking to recover against the Washington Football Team on Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes Passing Yards Odds

  • Over 315.5 -114
  • Under 315.5 -114

Mahomes has exceeded 315.5 yards in only two of his five games this season. He’s going up against the Washington defense, which has allowed more than 315.5 pass yards twice.

The quarterbacks to pass for more than 315.5 yards against the Washington defense were Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers.

Patrick Mahomes Touchdowns Odds

  • Over 2.5 -130
  • Under 2.5 +100

Expectations are high for Mahomes’ touchdown odds, and he’s scored more than 2.5 touchdowns in four of his five games so far.

The Washington defense has given up more than 2.5 touchdowns to three quarterbacks so far – Jameis Winston, Matt Ryan and Josh Allen racked up three or more TDs against the Football Team.

Patrick Mahomes Completions Odds

  • Over 26.5 -143
  • Under 26.5 +110

Mahomes is significantly favored to hit the Over on completions at 26.5, a feat he has accomplished in three of his five games so far.

Only Josh Allen and Justin Herbert have completed more than 26.5 passes against the Washington defense so far this season.

Patrick Mahomes Rush Yards Odds

  • Over 17.5 -125
  • Under 17.5 -103

Mahomes has exceeded 17.5 rushing yards in four of his five games this season, although one of those was only barely – he racked up 18 rush yards against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1.

He’s on a three-game streak of hitting more than 25 rush yards a game, though, with 45 against the Los Angeles Chargers, 26 against the Philadelphia Eagles and 61 against the Buffalo Bills.

As far as the Washington defense is concerned, they’ve given up more than 17.5 yards twice – to Daniel Jones of the New York Giants, and to Jameis Winston of the New Orleans Saints.

Mahomes has a very reasonable shot at hitting these props – and the Chiefs will likely need him to.

It should not be lost on any NFL bettor that two of the quarterbacks who have succeeded against Washington are the quarterbacks that have beaten Mahomes’ Chiefs – Josh Allen and Justin Herbert.

If they’re doing better than Mahomes against common opponents as well as in the heads up, the Chiefs – and online gambling fans who bet on them – might have something to worry about going forward.

The Chiefs take on the Washington Football Team at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday. The game will be broadcast on CBS and the NFL Network.
