Golden Nugget Online Gaming Re-Ups Paysafe Partnership

  • Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG) has extended their partnership with Paysafe to Michigan.
  • GNOG and Paysafe have worked together since 2013 in New Jersey.
  • GNOG is expected to move into Pennsylvania and West Virginia in the future.

LAS VEGAS - Golden Nugget Online Gaming, a leading provider of online gambling in Michigan, has extended its partnership with Paysafe, a provider of payment services.

This partnership now includes Michigan sports betting and Michigan iGaming, areas in which both companies are looking to expand.

Golden Nugget and Paysafe have worked together for nearly a decade - they first partnered up on Golden Nugget’s online New Jersey casino in 2013.

However, it wasn’t until 2019 that Paysafe entered the sports betting payment processing business, as Golden Nugget opened their online sportsbook attached to said online casino in that year.

Now, their expansion into the Michigan online gambling market represents a continuation of the business model that worked so well for them in New Jersey - and potentially, a blueprint for continued expansion.

Golden Nugget is expected to make similar moves in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, two highly competitive markets.

Golden Nugget already has it’s license for PA gambling, but is not up and running in the state yet.

When it does get up and running, it wouldn’t be a shock for them to have Paysafe on board as their payment processing partner.

Gregory Kirstein, Paysafe’s VP of Business Development for iGaming, expressed delight at the deal in a statement:

“We’re delighted to grow our partnership with Golden Nugget into Michigan, and we’re pleased that they recognize our value in supporting customer acquisition, retention and overall revenue growth in the states where they are now operating,” said Kirstein. “We look forward to continuing our dedicated support in Michigan in collaboration with Global Payments.”

The President of Golden Nugget Online Gaming, Thomas Winter, praised Paysafe’s involvement in New Jersey, and expressed hope for similar results in Michigan.

“Like every US igaming operator, getting payments right has always been an important focus for us,” said Winter. “Our partnership with Paysafe in New Jersey has helped us streamline and improve payments for us and our customers, and so when we chose to enter the bigger market of Michigan, extending the partnership was an easy choice that made sound business sense.”
