SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – A stunning new milestone was reached in the construction of the new expansion for the Rivers Des Plaines Casino in Illinois.

On Monday, the final steel beam was placed, thereby finalizing the structural skeleton of this major undertaking.

Local residents, officials, and casino executives alike all gathered for a celebratory ceremony. This is a huge moment for Illinois as the gaming industry continues to grow. With this new addition will come the potential for larger revenue streams for the state in the future.

New Offerings

In February, planning began on the massive new 78 thousand square-foot expansion which will allow approximately 725 new gaming positions, a ballroom, a poker room, and even a new restaurant.

“With this proposed expansion, we will be able to offer our guests more of the entertainment and dining options they enjoy, additional gaming opportunities, and a long-desired poker room,” said Greg Carlin, CEO, and co-founder of Rush Street Gaming, in a press release.

Striving To Be The Best

Along with the impressive expansion comes new ambitions for better customer experiences and more profits to be had from the Illinois-based casino.

“We were the first casino to become land-based to expand our gaming floor. BetRivers was the state’s first sportsbook to open and we provided fans with the state’s first mobile sports betting option. When complete, we will be the first casino in Illinois to offer our guests 2,000 gaming positions,” said Corey Wise, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Rivers Casino.

Those excited to check out the new offerings of the casino can look forward to its grand opening next spring, but in the meantime, there are hundreds of other online gambling options available right now.
