Louisiana Casino Launches First Retail Sportsbook On Wednesday

BATON ROUGE, La. – Louisiana residents who are ready to have a land-based sportsbook in their state will be getting one sooner than many expected.

The First Land-Based Louisiana Sportsbook

A casino located in the city of Marksville is launching its own sportsbook named “The Draft Room,” which will be open and ready to start offering Louisiana sports betting on Wednesday.

The Draft Room will be the sportsbook area inside of the Paragon Casino Resort made in partnership with United States bookmaker, Betfred Sports.

“Our partnership with Betfred Sports marks a new chapter for Paragon – which has always been a source of pride for Marksville and the people of Louisiana,” said Marshall Sampson, Senior, General Manager of Paragon Casino Resort.

Partners In Sports Betting

The partnership with Betfred is certainly mutually beneficial to both parties since it allows Betfred to continue its expansion through the US.

“Louisiana is an exciting opportunity for Betfred Sports to continue its expansion in the U.S. after successful launches in Iowa, Colorado and Pennsylvania,” said Mark Stebbings, Betfred Group Chief Operating Officer.

Along with sports betting, Paragon Casino Resort offers a number of other amenities and gambling options, such as 1,000 slot machines, 500 hotel rooms, and a 64,000-square-foot gaming floor for its guests.
