PointsBet Becomes Founding Partner Of MLS Club Austin FC

  • As a Founding Partner and official sports betting partner, PointsBet gains access to prominent promotional branding integration at the Q2 Stadium.

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Popular sportsbook PointsBet has secured a deal with MLS club Austin FC becoming both an official sport betting partner and Founding Partner.

With these positions, PointsBet gains prominent branding integration into the newly formed Q2 stadium. The sportsbook will launch its PointsBet Sports Bar on the second level of the North Building.

Another promotional aspect as part of this deal is PointsBet’s ability to use Austin FC IP, logos, marks, and see various sponsorship opportunities for the sportsbook.

PointsBet Meets Austin FC

Even as Texas gambling laws continue to not have regulated sports betting, local teams are already curating sports betting deals.

“PointsBet has emerged as a leader in what is arguably the most competitive and coveted landscape in sports,” said Andy Loughnane, President of Austin FC. “We are honored that PointsBet has chosen to strategically align with Austin FC and Major League Soccer as they continue to expand their impressive North American footprint.”

The partnership will have Austin FC games highlighted at retail PointsBet sportsbooks as well as at the PointsBet mobile app. Likewise, Austin FC will promote PointsBet throughout the Q2 stadium.

“As the city’s only major league sports team, Austin FC has excited global soccer fans and is setting a new standard for what it means to deliver for their supporters and their community by putting a laser-focus on experience,” said Johnny Aitken, CEO of PointsBet USA. “That’s exactly what we’re doing in the sports betting industry, and we simply couldn’t be more thrilled to align with the club in its inaugural season as a Founding Partner. We look forward to a future when our groundbreaking technology will be in the hands of Austin FC’s passionate and tech savvy fanbase.”

Potential Texas Sportsbook

What is most interesting about this partnership is the potential for a Texas sportsbook in the Q2 Stadium. The PointsBet Sports Bar is a fully functioning sports lounge that offers a slew of amenities.

There will be 18 television monitors, table games, various food and drink options, and is an isolated air-conditioned area, unlike a typical food stand at other stadiums.

If and when Texas regulates sports betting, they could follow in the footsteps of Arizona and offer in-stadium retail sports betting. The PointsBet Sports Bar is already set up to be integrated into a sportsbook should this happen.

This partnership could be early signs of the future of the Texas sports betting world should the gambling laws be expanded.
