UFC 285 Main Card Lines, Props, And Betting Advice

  • Jon Jones has +600 odds to fail a drug test post UFC 285.
  • Bo Nickal has -105 odds to beat Jamie Pickett with a submission in Round 1.
  • Alexa Grasso has +200 odds to score a takedown on Valentina Shevchenko.

LAS VEGAS - UFC 285 will be headlined by the matchup between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane, but there are plenty of talented fighters on the card, and there are excellent props on the online sportsbooks that can take bettors out of the traditional mode of simply picking winners.

Our favorite props for UFC 285 start with Jon Jones. He has been popped for more substances than basically anyone else in the UFC, and it’s unsurprising that an online sportsbook would have odds on it happening again.

Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane

Jon Jones Fails a Drug Test Post Fight

  • No -1500
  • Yes +600

Notably, Jones is making the move up to Heavyweight, a move that requires a significant amount of muscular additions.

It wouldn’t be totally shocking if Jones were using supplements to make the move, but one would expect that he at least would have the decency to conceal them.

That said, he hasn’t in the past.

Bo Nickal is one of the hottest prospects in the UFC – arguably the most dominant wrestler in the promotion already.

His prop odds are hilarious against Jamie Pickett, with Nickal having -105 odds to win in the first round by submission.

Bo Nickal vs Jamie Pickett Method + Round

  • Bo Nickal in Round 1 by Submission -105
  • Bo Nickal in Round 1 by KO/TKO or DQ +265
  • Bo Nickal by Points +700
  • Bo Nickal in Round 2 by Submission +700

MMA odds are rarely this lopsided at online gambling sites. For a single outcome in a single round to be that favored, it takes a truly special talent.

The MMA sportsbooks seem to believe that Nickal is that talent, and that he will submit Jamie Pickett in Round 1.

Alexa Grasso is expected to be the latest in a long line of victims of Valentina Shevchenko, and the online sportsbooks are very down on her ability to take the champ down.

Alexa Grasso Total Takedowns vs. Valentina Shevchenko

  • Under 0.5 Takedowns -260
  • Over 0.5 Takedowns +200

Grasso only needs one takedown to reward over bettors, but the online sportsbooks very much doubt she’ll get it.

Shevchenko is coming off of a close fight against Taila Santos in which she was taken down three times.

Before that, however, she was only taken down one time since 2017. It’s very difficult to get her on the ground, and the sportsbooks do not rate Grasso as the one to do it.
