LONDON – With the Daniel Craig era of James Bond coming to an end, a new era is set to begin and speculation has begun on who will fill the massive role of playing James Bond. Currently, odds are favoring Tom Hardy to step in.

Tom Hardy
Tom Hardy has been at the top of online gambling sites odds boards considering he has the backing from different actors in the series such as Pierce Brosnan and Naomie Harris.
“I think Tom Hardy could be a good Bond. I’d be happy to see him do it—You need an actor who can put a bit of wiggle into it — that’s what makes Bond,” said Brosnan. “He would make a great Bond, but they always pick someone we don’t expect and is up and coming—But I do think Tom would be amazing and if I could pick I would choose Tom,” said Harris.
Already with the cast on his side and his name being in the mix for some time now, Hardy could very well see highlight the next Bond film.
Idris Elba
Idris Elba is another name that online sportsbooks have been favoring. This comes as he has played other similar roles during his time with Marvel. Elba is also at the top of the fans poll as well on who they want to see as the next James Bond.
However, something hurting his odds is that there have been other rumors from an anonymous source claiming that Elba could be featured in the film but not as the main role.
“He won’t be the title character, but they do recognize the amount of pull and respect he commands, and they want to work with him on a completely original character for the next installment,” said the source.
That said, although he is a fan favorite, he might not be the guy that takes over.
Richard Madden
Madden is another name that has swirled in the Bond arena for some time given his role in the British television series, Body Guard. Not only has Richard Madden played a similar role in that series, but he has won awards for it as well in a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Emmy as well.
Along with being in the running for the lead Bond role, he is also getting the backing from those betting on who it will be with 15.8% of total bets being placed on him.
Also, Madden has come out stating that he is honored to be considered for the job and has not ruled out the possibility of the role.
