FanDuel, DraftKings Pull Out Of AGA Amid Sports Prediction Launches

  • DraftKings and FanDuel are resigning from the American Gaming Association.
  • FanDuel and DraftKings are expected to offer sports prediction contracts.

WASHINGTON – Both DraftKings and FanDuel have immediately resigned from the American Gaming Association (AGA) on Monday over their interest in the up and coming sports prediction market.

The announcement came as the two sides do not see eye to eye on sports events contracts, as both FanDuel and DraftKings do intend on offering them, while the AGA is actively against them being offered on the online gambling sites.

In discussions between the AGA and the two online sportsbooks, the relationship between the two sides also took a turn, which led to the resignation from the AGA prior to a poll on their status being taken.

What’s Next For DraftKings, FanDuel In Prediction Markets

Now that both sports betting giants have pulled out of the AGA, it ramps up their intent to begin offering sports prediction markets. Both will launch their prediction markets in states that do not yet have a legal sports betting market available, such as Georgia, Texas, and California, among several others.

DraftKings plans to launch their prediction market platform with their acquisition of the Railbird trading platform and rebrand it into “DraftKings Predictions.”

As for FanDuel, they’ve partnered with Flutter to be able to offer their soon to launch platform “FanDuel Predicts,” which will launch in several states in the coming months.
