Potential DAZN Sportsbook Likely In The Works With Job Posting

  • DAZN, a UK-based sports streaming company has posted a job listing for a VP of Product – Betting & Gaming.
  • The job description hints at a potential sportsbook in the works at the company.

LONDONUK-based sports streaming giant DAZN could potentially be working towards launching its own regulated sportsbook.

A new job listing shows DAZN is seeking a VP of Product – Betting & Gaming. The job description details the VP running betting operations of some kind.

While nothing is confirmed, the job description also opens the door for a potential entry into the USA online gambling market as they are aiming to embark on some of the most “exciting markets in the world.”

DAZN Meets Sports Betting

DAZN is one of the largest sports streaming services globally with more than 15 million subscribers worldwide. With its large imprint in sports, it comes as no surprise that sports betting would be next on the company’s radar.

The VP of Betting and Gaming would be a full-time executive working through the entire process of sports betting in the company.

“DAZN has been changing how the world consumes sports for the past 5 years and we are now embarking on an exciting new stage of our journey,” reads the description. “As our VP of Product, you’ll head up our new global Betting & Gaming function. Together with the recently hired EVP of Betting Revenue & Gaming and a team of strategists and developers, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver a fantastic product experience.”

The company has not confirmed if they are in fact working to launch a sportsbook but the job description leans heavily towards the idea of a potential operation in the works.

Sports Media And Sports Betting

DAZN wouldn’t be the first sports media company to work towards launching an online sportsbook. FuboTV, a US-based streaming provider, purchased the sportsbook Vigtory with the goal of launching its own operation.

Sports media giant Sports Illustrated launched its SI Sportsbook in 2021 as well, continuing the trend of sports entertainment platforms getting into sports betting. ESPN is also looking to take major steps into sports betting according to Walt Disney CEO Bob Chapek.

There is a lot of data on how sports betting has heavily influenced sports media, so DAZN making this move only shows how the company is evolving with the world of sports.
