  • The two men became a team when entering two NFL contests, one of which was the coveted Las Vegas SuperContest where they have now become the crowned champions.

LAS VEGAS – Two famous professional poker players known on the Las Vegas circuit decided to team up and try their hand at sports betting by entering contests for NFL games. The result ended up becoming an over $785K payday for the duo.

David “ODB” Baker and Mark Gregorich came together for the Las Vegas SuperContest and the Circa Sports Million II contest in Las Vegas.

The pair gave themselves the name “ODBMG2” that would serve as their handle for both competitions with the sportsbooks.

The Contests

The Westgate Las Vegas hosts the Las Vegas SuperContest annually. It is a highly regarded USA online gambling competition among sports bettors as it’s not an easy win. Players have to choose five games happening in the NFL and go against the spread.

If the teams picked were to win, players are awarded a single point while a tie gives them half a point. When the season ends, the points accumulated by entrants from the five games are tallied to name a final winner.

For 2020, the winner crowned was the ODBMG2 pair, the Westgate posted. Baker and Gregorich won $435,623 as the new titleholders.

On top of that, they managed to win $100K in first-quarter prize money from the SuperContest. They tied for second place for the Circa Sports Million II that resulted in $200K.

Add $100K for being number one through the first four out of five games (Circa’s contest is also a five-game pick) and then $50K more for coming in second on the first quarter board. For both contests, the men were able to walk away with $785,623 in pure profit after taxes.

The entry fees were $1,500 for the SuperContest and $1,000 for Circa. Baker and Gregorich will each have gained over $300K from their sports betting endeavors.

The professional poker players have won a combined $7.9 million from poker tournaments over the years. This NFL gambling experience allowed them to try something new with their gaming expertise.

The picks that ultimately won them the SuperContest title were the Baltimore Ravens (-12.5), Carolina Panthers (6.5), Dallas Cowboys (-1.5), Pittsburgh Steelers (9), and the Washington Football Team (-2.5).
