NEW YORK – The US Open is currently finishing up the first round, but many of the second-round matchups are already set. Wednesday is filled with second-round clashes but which are the best to bet on?

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. Adrian Mannarino

Stefanos Tsitsipas had arguably the toughest first-round matchup of any of the top seeds facing Andy Murray. The match went to a fifth set, but Tsitsipas came out on top. He now has an easier matchup against Adrian Mannarino in which online gambling sites heavily favor the Greek.

Tsitsipas vs. Mannarino Set Betting

  • Tsitsipas 3-0 -235
  • Tsitsipas 3-1 +265
  • Tsitsipas 3-2 +900

He’s the No. 3 player in the world and now has what’s objectively an easier matchup than what he had in the first round. Betting on Tsitsipas to win the match in straight sets should prove to be worth the price for sports bettors.

Brandon Nakashima vs. Alex Molcan

Brandon Nakashima beat John Isner in the first round in straight sets and seems to be playing the best tennis of his young career. Alex Molcan is somewhat the opposite of Isner, as Molcan only wins 72% of his service games but takes 40% of his return games. Either way, online sportsbooks favor Nakashima.

Nakashima vs. Molcan Odds

  • Brandon Nakashima -315
  • Alex Molcan +260

Molcan is largely untested, which makes him a wild card, but the experience and recent play from Nakashima make him worth the risk in this second-round meeting.

Frances Tiafoe vs. Guido Pella

Frances Tiafoe has been playing pretty solid as of late, while Guido Pella is coming off of a round of 64 exit in the Winston Salem Open. This could be a very large part of why Tiafoe is the heavy favorite to win with sportsbooks.

Tiafoe vs. Pella Odds

  • Frances Tiafoe -335
  • Guido Pella +265

Pella was ranked in the top 20 over two years ago, but has since fallen down the latter to No. 85. This is a case of Tiafoe getting better while Pella is getting worse. Typically, the regressing athlete doesn’t fare too well.

Diego Schwartzman vs. Kevin Anderson

Diego Schwartzman and Kevin Anderson make up one of the more intriguing second-round matchups. Kevin Anderson is over a foot taller than Schwartzman and used to be a top-five player in the world, but that was years ago. Are his glory days behind him?

Schwartzman vs. Anderson Odds

  • Diego Schwartzman -230
  • Kevin Anderson +190

Anderson is a big server who doesn’t tend to break well while Schwartzman is a well-rounded player who is currently breaking opponents at the highest rate of his career in 2021 (35%). Despite the size difference, Anderson is likely not good enough to compete with the top tennis players in the world anymore.

For those not in favor of laying the juice on any of these bets, parlaying the four together would give bettors a payout of +252.
