Sportradar, TwinSpires Announce 5-Year Sports Betting Deal

  • Swiss-based gambling data company Sportradar is partnering with TwinSpires to bring new analytical data to their betting platform.
  • TwinSpires is the official online betting partner of Churchill Downs and will look to have the new system integrated by the Kentucky Derby.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The TwinSpires online gambling platform is receiving a major upgrade in the form of a new partnership with Sportradar.

Announced Thursday, Swiss-based analytics and gambling data company Sportradar will be signing a five-year sports betting deal with TwinSpires, the official online sports betting branch of Churchill Downs horse racing track.

This means that mans of the Kentucky Derby will be seeing some new features and components to their online betting experience when the Derby gets ready to run later this year.

Neale Deeley, the director of US betting for Sportradar, spoke on the new deal.

“Sportradar is excited to be working with TwinSpires as it continues to expand within the US sports betting market,” said Deeley. “TwinSpires has a great opportunity ahead of itself, so we look forward to joining them on this journey and helping them deliver a high-quality betting experience that customers can rely on.”

Sportradar has been around since 2001 and has provided sports betting information and technical services to more than 1000 companies around the world. Sportradar is also the official partner of the MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, FIFA, and UEFA.

Now, Sportradar will be branching into horse racing betting by acquiring this partnership with TwinSpires.

TwinSpires themselves is the new branding name of BetAmerica, which has been providing sports betting systems for the Kentucky Derby for years.

For the 2021 Kentucky Derby which takes place on May 1, the new system will have the goal of being up and running for users.

This proves to be another major move in the continuing development of online sports betting expansion across the United States.
