Who Will Be The NFL’s Highest/Lowest Scoring Teams?

  • The Kansas City Chiefs are the +550 betting favorites to have the highest-scoring offense in 2021.
  • The Houston Texans have +400 odds, the shortest of any team, to have the lowest-scoring offense in the NFL.

KANSAS CITY – In 2020 the Kansas City Chiefs had the best offense in the NFL in terms of yards, but not in scoring.

Sportsbooks expect that to change in the upcoming season and also project the Houston Texans woes to continue.

Highest Scoring Offense: Chiefs Ahead Of The Pack

The Kansas City Chiefs were the only team in the NFL to average more than 400 yards of offense per game last season and did so with 415.8. However, the Chiefs only finished the year sixth in scoring.

Sports gambling sites are expecting Kansas City to have the top-scoring unit in the NFL for the 2021-2022 season.

Regular Season Highest Scoring Team

  • Kansas City Chiefs +550
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +800
  • Buffalo Bills +900
  • Green Bay Packers +1200
  • Cleveland Browns +1400
  • Dallas Cowboys +1400
  • Los Angeles Rams +1400
  • San Francisco 49ers +1400
  • Baltimore Ravens +1500

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills were both in the top three scoring units last season and are expected to improve, but there’s a couple of teams that the online sportsbooks are seemingly underestimating.

The Green Bay Packers led the league in scoring last year with 31.8 points per game and despite having largely the same offensive core, the +1200 odds put them as the fourth option.

Also, the Tennessee Titans averaged 30.7 points per game in 2020, more than the Chiefs, and are given +2500 odds.

The Titans had a relatively solid offseason and should be in a good position to match their 2020 offensive numbers. The team’s rush-heavy attack is likely the reason why they’re so far down on the list, but it’s proven to be just as successful as the other top teams.

Strictly on value, there isn’t a better bet available.

Lowest Scoring Team: Texans, Jets, Lions Favored

The Houston Texans are getting slaughtered by NFL sportsbooks. They have the lowest win total, shortest odds to have the worst record, and are now also favored to have the lowest-scoring offense in the NFL.

Season Lowest Scoring Team

  • Houston Texans +400
  • Detroit Lions +500
  • New York Jets +650
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +1200
  • Chicago Bears +1200
  • Cincinnati Bengals +1400

If somehow Deshaun Watson ends up playing for Houston, every single line suggesting the Texans are going to be bad will look foolish, however, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Tyrod Taylor is slated to be the starting quarterback but aside from him, the team has an old group of running backs, a thin wide receiver corps and an unimpressive offensive line.

The Texans are going to be a hard team to do worse than this season, but if any team is going to be able to do it, it might be the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars have a rookie quarterback, first-time NFL head coach and made a criticized move to draft Travis Etienne in the first round.

For as good as Trevor Lawrence is supposed to be, there’s still ample reasoning for concerns about the state of the Jaguars heading into the season.
