ENCINO, Calif.Gilbert Arenas was arrested on Wednesday for his involvement in an illegal poker ring, but the former NBA guard got released on Thursday. He plans on staying out of the pen, telling viewers on his No Chill Gil live stream that he’s snitching to protect himself.

His exact words, according to a clip gathered by TMZ were “Good luck in court. I’m pretty sure I ain’t gonna be there when it’s starting to go, cause, yeah, I’m snitching. “

Arenas was arrested on federal charges of operating an illegal gambling ring that hosted poker games and collected a rake. He plead not guilty to operating an illegal gambling business (one count), making false statements to the feds (one count), and conspiracy to operate an illegal business (one count).

Gilbert Arenas Released Despite Connection To Illegal Gambling Ring

Arenas allegedly rented out his mansion to be used for high-stakes poker games, which featured entertainment, valet, armed security, and more. Yevegeni, Gershman, a co-defendant, was suspected to organize the crime and has been linked to other schemes like marriage fraud and immigration fraud.

Gershman is likely the person who Arenas claims he’ll be “snitching” on. Arenas claims he just rented out the house and “wasn’t apart” of anything that went on at the mansion.

Arenas isn’t the only familiar face at USA online gambling sites to get arrested this week. Another NBA player, Marcus Morris Sr., was arrested on Sunday for an alleged Las Vegas casino debt.
