Accidental Winner Of $10 Million

In the California Lottery, a woman was going to spend $40 on different small-priced scratch-off lottery games and was rudely bumped into the machine and pressed the $30 button for a 200x scratch ticket.

At first, the woman was furious that she had been bumped out of $30 for one ticket, but that quickly changed when she realized she had won $10 million.

“I didn’t really believe it at first, but I got on the 405 freeway and kept looking down at (the ticket), and I almost crashed my car,” said the woman. “I pulled over, looked at it again and again, scanned it with my (California Lottery mobile) app, and I just kept thinking this can’t be right.”

The ticket was purchased out of a machine at the Vons Supermarket which also serves as a legal gambling operator for lottery tickets.

The group hit on a $3 Power Play ticket for $50,000. Their ticket then hit for the 2x multiplier to bring their grand prize up to $100,000.

Each member of the group took home $3,225 in winnings except for one person who took $3,310. The group found out about their winnings through North Carolina’s online lottery app and immediately went to the lottery headquarters to claim their prize.

Dating back to December 2020, a lottery winner claimed a $217 million grand prize from the EuroMillions lottery game. After finally realizing that he was a grand prize winner, he decided to make good use of the bulk of his winnings to a nature foundation to help save the planet.

“From my point of view, the priority today is saving the planet. We must act. It is an absolute emergency. If nothing is done in this regard, all other actions will be in vain. We will no longer exist,” said the winner. “The minute I found out I was the lucky winner of the EuroMillions, I had the will to share my luck.”
